  Some of my Digital Photography.... In the summer of 2020, during the height of the pandemic, many people were picking up new hobbies since everything was closed and there was nothing to do. I decided that I wanted to get into photography so I began scoping out Facebook Marketplace for a camera. I then came across a Canon EOS 7D for sale just a few blocks from my house. The Canon EOS 7D, released in 2009, was one of the best sports and wildlife cameras of its time. It came weather-sealed with an 18mp sensor, an Auto-Focus system that was unmatched for its time, and the ability to shoot up to 8 shots per second. It also came with a pretty hefty price tag back in 2009, retailing at $1,700. However, picking this camera up in 2020 for $200 with just over 5,000 shutter actuations felt like a steal.   Anyways, here are some of my favourite images I've captured with it since.....    

  My first roll of 35mm film...     Canon EOS 30          EF 50mm f/1.8          Ilford HP5 This blog post is slightly overdue (Sorry David), but a couple of weeks ago I was able to develop my first ever roll of 35mm film... or first ever roll of film at that. I would consider myself an "intermediate" photographer in the DSLR world, however, prior to this class I did not know the first thing about analog photography. Already in the little time I've spent shooting 35mm film, I have really gained an appreciation for it and have come to really enjoy it - both shooting the film and the development process. I can already tell that this is something I would like to continue as a hobby beyond this class. Above is a contact print of my first roll of film. I did not go for any sort of theme with this roll as this was really just a test - A test to make sure I did not get ripped off on this camera I bought from Faceb...

 Using my Canon 7D DSLR as a prop, this diptych connects the photographer (me) with the photograph being taken. Despite giving the illusion that this was shot on my 7D, both photos were actually taken with my iPhone 11. I added heavy vignetting to the second photo to resemble looking through a camera's viewfinder.
